Tutorial: How To Draw A Cat Step By Step?
Step 1: Any complicated object can be drawn on paper if you know the trick how to. The tip is to depict the image in the form of shapes first. So, to learn how to draw a cat step by step, keep two shapes in mind – a square and a circle.
Based on how big you want the cat to be, draw a square. The bigger the square, bigger the cat and smaller the square, small will be the cat. This square will serve as an outline for the cat’s body.
Next, on the top right corner of the square, draw a small circle, as shown in the figure below. This circle will serve as an outline for the cat’s face.
Note: The base or outline (that is square and circle) should be very light. So that it is easy to erase in the end.

Next, on the inside of the square, draw the cat’s body and a leg. Check the picture here.
Step 3: Tilt the circle to a little on the left side so that it appears as if a cat is looking on a side. You will know this in the final picture. Rub a part of the cat’s head and draw the ears, as shown in the image below.
Then, draw another leg. But make sure this falls within the square.
Step 6: Draw the cat’s stomach at the backside to complete the look and to make the cat appear as if it is sitting and looking on one side. Then, sketch the cat’s eyes, nose, mouth, tongue, and whiskers.
Step 8: Now comes the fun part. Since all the cats are furry, you need to add a little twist to the outline. Draw small zigzag lines on the outline so that the cat’s appearance is hairy. For a realistic look, draw three vertical line marks on the cat’s forehead and small horizontal lines on each side of the face.
