Why Is This Car The Fastest?

Zenvo ST1 came from a Danish automobile manufacturer, Zenvo Automotive. Zenvo ST1 is the first car that was ever built by the company which started production on 2009, and only 5 cars were actually completed and sold. The car, as Zenvo claimed, is a high performance sports car with purely Danish designs. With The Motor Report reviews, ST1 can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3 seconds and from 0 to 124 mph in 8.9 seconds. The top speed of the car is 233 mph. However, as impressive as this may seem, not everyone is happy for this Danish-make, as it was greatly slammed by Top Gear after a series of failed tests which resulted to Zenvo providing their statement on a Danish website called ProStreet. The car was also caught on fire at the recently concluded 2015 Copenhagen historic grand prix which forced its driver to quickly get out from the car.

McLaren F1 is probably one of the cars that is very much rich in history. It held the record as the world’s fastest production car on March 31, 1998 at 231 mph with the speed limiter enabled, and it got 242.8 mph if the limiter was removed. Even though, McLaren is only at the 9th ranked on the list of the top 10 fastest cars in the world, the maker is still proud considering that the car is naturally aspirated, while the likes from Bugatti Veyron, Hennessey Venom GT, SSC Ultimate Aero and Koenigsegg Agera R (all are included on this list) used force induction to achieve their recorded top speeds. In addition, Mario Andretti, a world champion racecar driver, noted and claimed that the McLaren F1 is very much capable to run at a 7th gear which will definitely increase its current recorded top speed. With such facts, I doubt that someone can contest that McLaren F1 is a very fast car.

Next on the top 10 fastest cars in the world list is none other than Shelby SuperCars or commonly called SSC. It is a company founded by Jerod Shelby in 1999. Ultimate Aero is Shelby’s personal dream car and in 2007, he showed it to the world. It became the company’s first production car which relatively turned out to bring the company’s name into the Guinness Book of World Record as the world’s fastest production car with 256.14 mph. The car was dethroned by Bugatti Veyron Sport. However, the Ultimate Aero regained the title since it was found out that the Veyron Sport disabled its speed limiter in order to reach a higher speed than the world’s then record holder. The SSC Ultimate Aero performed the record breaking test in 2007 at Washington’s public highway, and kept the record for three years until 2010 when it was taken away by the Veyron. Being a record holder ‘twice’ will definitely include this SSC creation as one of the top 10 fastest cars in the world.
